 Good little cheap little simple little grinderSep 07, 2010
I'm enough of a coffee snob to want to grind my locally-roasted coffee myself, but not enough of a coffee snob to sink more than $20 into a grinder. This little guy is very satisfactory!
It doesn't make a perfectly homogeneous grind but it's much more even than the similarly priced Braun I had before. It's quieter than the Braun. It's easier to clean out (with a soft brush) than the Braun. And unlike the Braun it can grind a single cup's worth of beans as evenly as it grinds a full capacity load.
Great for the price. The only thing I really wish were different was the cord: a place to wind it in the base would have been really handy.

I've never owned a coffee grinder before. I'm a relatively new coffee drinker, so I never had to own one before. But, with that said, I didn't expect this coffee grinder to be so effective, efficient, and powerful. It seriously blends whole coffee beans to dust within 2 seconds. I thought it might take even upwards of 10 seconds to do, but it's almost instant. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

I bought this grinder for herbs, nuts and chocolate grinding...nothing terribly hard and here I am in August 2010 trolling for a new grinder because this one seized up a few months ago which was the last time I needed it. I find that pretty telling. I wouldn't buy it again.

This is a fantastic coffee grinder and I can't believe the exact same model is still available! My husband and I seriously bought ours in 1989 when we got our first apartment and have used it every day (at least once a day) since and it works as well now as it did then. We have seen other models and thought about getting them just because they have extra features, but we just couldn't rationalize buying them when this one does such a great job and has been so reliable. It is very straightforward and doesn't do anything fancy, but really, we consider ourselves hardcore java junkies and we don't need anything else. This grinder has seen us through several coffee makers--don't get me started--and has done a great job of grinding the coffee for over twenty years. What more can I say?

I am pleased with this purchase. It is small, works quickly and offers me the flexibility to by whole bean coffee as an alternative. Would recommend.
